Konstantinos Zagoris

Senior full-stack engineer · PhD · University lecturer

I’m a senior software engineer based in Cyprus, with over a decade of experience building applications across maritime operations, supply-chain software, education, and research.

My work spans C#/.NET services, React and Vue frontends, TypeScript/Node.js, databases, and cloud integrations. I also teach databases and distributed systems at Neapolis University Pafos.

Alongside industry work, I build developer tools and desktop applications. My research background includes computer vision, document image analysis, and content-based retrieval.

Industry experience

I develop multiple applications using Vue.js/TypeScript and C#/.NET, with event-driven integrations through RabbitMQ and Azure Event Hub. My work covers frontend interfaces, APIs, databases, testing, deployment, and production support.

Selected projects

The classic WinMTR, rebuilt on Avalonia and .NET 10. Traceroute and ping in one window, on Windows, macOS and Linux. No runtime to install.

Download · How I ported it

I designed and built this remote-examination platform end to end using React, TypeScript, MUI, Firebase, and WebRTC. It includes course, student and exam management, role-based workflows, peer-to-peer video monitoring, face detection, and event-triggered recordings for proctor review.

A Kotlin/JVM developer tool that connects ChatGPT to selected local workspaces through the OpenAI Secure MCP Tunnel. A terminal dashboard manages workspace access and activity; a separate runtime supports file operations, Git inspection, and command execution. Built with Ktor, the MCP Kotlin SDK, and Mosaic.

Research software

  • Word Spotting by Example: algorithms for finding words in historical handwritten document images without training data.
  • Image Enhancement Tool: implementation accompanying my ICDAR 2017 work on bio-inspired enhancement of historical handwritten documents.

My research connects algorithms with usable software, including document retrieval and computer-aided analysis of mammographic images. Publications on Google Scholar.
