🌐 RescueGrid: Autonomous AI Disaster Intelligence & Safe-Evacuation Platform

"From Chaotic Disaster Signals to Verified Action in Under 60 Seconds"

RescueGrid is an autonomous disaster intelligence and evacuation routing platform built for mass casualty flood events. Starting with our first Country Cell (India → Assam → Guwahati floods), RescueGrid replaces failing 911/emergency communication infrastructure with decentralized, parallel AI agents that ingest, verify, predict, safely route citizens to available shelters, and draft human-approved, localized alerts.

🎯 The Hackathon Pitch

"RescueGrid turns chaotic disaster information into trusted action. Parallel AI agents collect and verify local signals, while a safety-first routing engine guides people to available shelters and helps emergency teams send human-approved, multilingual alerts. We start country-by-country so communities get local, accountable, and actionable disaster response."

🚀 Key Innovations

1. 🛡️ Source Registry & Noise-Control Layer

Disaster response cannot rely on unverified social chatter. RescueGrid enforces a 4-Tier Source Registry:

  • Tier 1 — Official: IMD Guwahati, Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), Guwahati Traffic Police & PWD. Can declare hazard zones and road closures.
  • Tier 2 — Verified Partner: Indian Red Cross Society, GMCH Hospital Network. Verifies shelter capacities and medical readiness.
  • Tier 3 — Community Reports: Registered citizen emergency WhatsApp bot reports. Must be corroborated before altering evacuation routes.
  • Tier 4 — Public Web / Social: Open web scrapers. Discovery only; quarantined until corroborated.
  • Mathematical Confidence Formula: $$\text{Confidence} = \text{Reliability}_{\text{source}} + (\text{Corroborations} \times 10) + \text{Freshness} - \text{Spam Penalty}$$

2. ⚡ Parallel Google ADK / Gemini Multi-Agent Architecture

RescueGrid uses the Google ADK Parallel Agent Pattern:

  • Coordinator Agent (Gemini 3 Flash): Orchestrates the neural data bus and aggregates multi-agent intelligence.
  • Ingest Agent (Gemini 3 Flash): Enforces the Source Registry allowlist and active Country Cell boundary (Guwahati Kamrup Metro).
  • Verify Agent (Gemini 3 Pro): Deduplicates incoming signals (500m radius), corroborates evidence, and generates an HMAC-SHA256 Thought Signature.
  • Predict Agent (Gemini 3 Pro): Models volumetric flood hazard polygons (Beltola Basin, Bharalu Channel, Anil Nagar) with real-time surge depth tags.
  • Route Agent (Gemini 3 Pro): Deterministic safe routing engine that scores paths, avoids flood polygons and blocked roads, checks shelter capacity (Khanapara HS), and validates wheelchair accessibility.
  • Alert Agent (Gemini 3 Flash): Formulates localized emergency broadcasts in Assamese (অসমীয়া), Hindi (हिन्दी), and English.

3. 🧭 Deterministic Safe Evacuation Routing ("Why This Route?")

The LLM never hallucinates turn-by-turn road geometry. Safe routes are evaluated against live hazard polygons and road closures: $$\text{Route Score} = \text{Travel Time} + \text{Danger Overlap Penalty} (\infty) + \text{Road Closure Penalty} (\infty) + \text{Shelter Capacity Reserve} + \text{Accessibility Verification}$$

  • The Demo Reroute Moment: When NH-27 Khanapara is blocked, the engine instantly recalculates an alternate route via the Dispur Corridor and explains the detour.

4. 📢 Human-in-the-Loop Multilingual Emergency Broadcasts

  • Holographic citizen phone preview across SMS, WhatsApp, and Voice IVR.
  • Formulated in Assamese, Hindi, and English.
  • Enforces the "Trust-to-Action" rule: AI recommends and drafts; a human operator clicks "Authorize & Broadcast".

5. 📱 Low-Data Civilian Survival Mode (/citizen)

  • Designed for 2G disaster blackout conditions.
  • One giant "FIND NEAREST SAFE SHELTER" button.
  • Offline turn-by-turn evacuation instructions in Assamese and Hindi.
  • Direct ASDMA emergency SOS hotline access.

🛠️ Tech Stack

  • Framework: Next.js 16 (App Router) + React 19
  • Language: TypeScript
  • AI SDK: @google/genai targeting Gemini 3 Pro & Flash
  • Styling: Tailwind CSS + Cyber-Tactical Dark Glassmorphism
  • State Management: Zustand
  • Animations: Framer Motion
  • Icons: Lucide React

🚦 Getting Started

1. Installation

git clone https://github.com/iamdanishm/rescuegrid.git
cd rescuegrid
npm install

2. Run Development Server

npm run dev

Open http://localhost:3000 in your browser.
Civilian Survival View is accessible at http://localhost:3000/citizen.

🎬 3-Minute Pitch & Demo Script

  1. 0:00 - 0:30 (Context & Trust): Open the dashboard on Guwahati, Assam. Open the Source Registry modal showing the 6 registered feeds and the noise-filtering funnel.
  2. 0:30 - 1:15 (Parallel Ingestion): Click "INITIALIZE / PLAY". Watch IMD Flash Flood Warning arrive. The Parallel Agent Neural Strip lights up (Ingest, Verify, Predict, Route work simultaneously). A red pulsating flood polygon renders over Beltola.
  3. 1:15 - 1:50 (Safe Evacuation): Citizen SOS arrives from Beltola with an 82-year-old in a wheelchair. The Route Agent renders a glowing green safe corridor to Khanapara High School (120 spots open). Review the "Why this route?" Glass-Box breakdown.
  4. 1:50 - 2:20 (The "Wow" Reroute Moment): Click "BLOCK NH-27". The system instantly detects the road closure, re-verifies safety, and recalculates an alternate route via the Dispur Corridor with live explanation.
  5. 2:20 - 3:00 (Human-Approved Alert & Citizen View): Switch to the Alert tab. Review the drafted emergency message in Assamese (অসমীয়া) and English. Click "AUTHORIZE & BROADCAST". Switch to Civilian Mode (/citizen) to show how a stranded citizen receives 1-tap shelter navigation on a 2G phone.
